I ran the 5k with my daughter on Saturday and the half on Sunday with my husband. It was a busy weekend with some cold and rain and a little snow. So mich to see and do (eat) around the race area all weekend it’s a wonder I could run. But run we did and despite the weather we had a great time! Highly recommend

This race takes place in the bucolic and suburban area of south Shreveport. Packet pick up was at a clubhouse in the Provenance subdivision. For a first timer took a little bit to find it but no probs. Now about the race: can we talk hills. People say Louisiana is flat but holy hills and valleys the whole route. My quads were hammered by the finish. Lots of police/ traffic support ( a little iffy around a busy golf club) but that’s it. Lots of aid stations. Nice after party with plenty of food and drinks and a wonderful award ceremony. Pic to follow

Rock n Roll always does a great job with the expo, swag and race support. We decided to Uber it as close as we could get to the race. Forget about driving!!! The race itself took us through the garden district with surprisingly fewer potholes than past years!! The after party had beer just flowing and some good music. I ran this with my college student kids (was their first half) and all of us give it a big thumbs up!
