I really enjoyed this race. We picked up our bibs and quarter zip at a pub in downtown Louisville. We were a little surprised that was all that came in the bags... no other information about upcoming races or anything....just the bib and the quarter zip (which is great quality by the way)
The parking from the race wasn't very far. Easy little walk to the lineup. The race itself was beautiful but extremely hilly. The after party was good too. We got free beer and pie. They had a few blow up things to take our pictures by. Overall, had a good experience here.

WOW! What a race. This was extremely tough for me. I did not train hardly at all for this. I am previously a Warrior Dasher and in light of their bankruptcy, Spartan honored my code and gave me a free race. (Very very generous of them).
The obstacles were quite difficult. I probably had to bypass at least 5 of them due to being a little too short, or not having the strength to carry a lot of weight.
The terrain was great. Literally had a bit of everything. Dirt, rocks, sand, water.
Finisher shirt and medal look awesome!
Not sure if I will be doing this again, as it was definitely a lot harder for me than the Warrior Dash, but I am glad I went!

Love the Run for the Bagel Race! Easy parking, easy registration/pickup. Great Race tee shirt. Nice course. Very well put together. Sarah (director) does a great job every year for this race. 1 water station. First aid available on the course. Volunteers were awesome.
You literally get a bagel at the end. Who doesn't love CARBS?!?

This was my 4th Warrior Dash, so you could say I'm a seasoned attender. This years' race was at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joilet, IL on July 13. Was disappointed this course was switched to this location, as the farm location in 2015 was absolutely epic terrain through the woods and creeks. Overall this location was okay, but would've preferred the previous location.
Pros:
Easy registration/packet pickup
Bag Check
Photo Ops
Free beer
Free Shirt
MUD
Cons:
Long wait time for showers
If you race in the afternoon, your shirt sizes are limited and beer is gone
Short people have issues with some of the obstacles

Although I would still recommend this race, the planning was really terrible. The pre-party was great but the actual 5k was poorly thought out.
1. This race started in waves, however it wasn't based on any type of pace. That meant that walkers and runners both started at the same time and throughout the entire 5k i was weaving in, out, and between people. Either this race should start in actual timed waves or split the road into lanes for runners on one side and walkers on the other.
2. This race was poorly lit. I understand that it was at night and supposed to be blacklit, but for safety reasons there should've been better lighting. Some people were tripping and had injuries which leads me to my next point...
3. The only volunteers/course officials were at the one water stop. Nobody was on the actual course directing or helping the people hurt on the side of the course.
4. This course wasn't even 3.1 miles. It was 2.93. According to other Strava users that did this race it was still under 3 so it wasn't just me.
To the race directors: please please please do better. Take this review as a learning opportunity.
