This is a great Thanksgiving Day Run in Jefferson City. The course is the flattest that you could have in this part of the country. This race got me back into running. There are options of a 5K or 10K. The winners of each age group gets a free pie. The course is flat like I said earlier. The first 5K goes to the Katy Trail and then back to the dog park. If you decide to do the 10K, you run the first 5K and the second 5K goes basically over to 63 diamonds and back.

If you ever have a chance to run the Chicago Marathon or Chicago Marathon 5k, I would do so. Chicago was my first marathon and even though the time doesn't reflect it, I had a great time. Course is flat, very few inclines. The only inclines are over the bridges. I stayed downtown mainly for the ease of getting around.

Small town race for a good cause. They really do a good job with communication, aid stations and atmosphere. There is nothing scenic unless you like corn fields! It hard to find a half in the Midwest in August so that is how I first found it. Plus the finish line was on the track at the local high school. You definitely feel the fans as you enter the stadium.

This is a great race. The after party is great because you can enjoy a beer, pastry, or breakfast burrito. The course is fairly flat besides one decent size hill. Most of the course is done on asphalt but there was a little section on chat. Even though the weather was a little humid, I was able to PR this race and this was my first race to get a sub-2 half-marathon.

This is a great race. The terrain is rolling hills. This hills aren't that bad just make sure that you train on them. Most of my races that I sign up for are just a couple of days before due to my schedule and even though I signed up the day before, I was able to get a t-shirt. This is a smaller race but it is the notoriety that it should get. The people are amazing and would definitely run this race again.
